Death be not proud, though some have called thee"

I had a policy to keep this blog completely original. But now, i want to pay a humble tribute to a great piece of metaphysical thinking that has been put forth in the form of a classic poem
i bow respectfully before the stature of the poet and present to u with utmost humility the poem
The poem might make u cry or give u goosebumps, bt i assure u it will not leave u unchanged or unmoved
Happy reading

Death be not proud, though some have called thee"

DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee

Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,

For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,

Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.

From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
5
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,

And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,

Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.

Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,

And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
10
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,

And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;

One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,

And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.

MaDnEsS

Lunacy encompassing
Madness engulfing
A state of trance
Euphoric existence

A mad desire to shout
Aloud afar
To be heard
To be ignored

A mad desire to run
Away alone
To escape
To be caged

A mad desire to chase
Again Alas!
To acquire
To lose

A mad desire to cry
Agony, pain
To suffer
To subsist

A mad desire to love
Amor, adore
To be loved
To hate

A mad desire to live
Always, ever
To survive
To exist

A mad desire to die
Atone, eternity
To liberation
To bondage

A mad desire
A mad want
A mad obsession
LIFE

dus ka ek... dus ka ek

Yea what u would probably hear in a sabzi mandi or probably by the black ticketeer in the theater and if u are the more libidously inclined, then u might have heard this in the dark streets of the red light area. the commoditisation of things, the mass scale production, these are probably not alien terms to an mba or the likes of him. But we fail to observe that we are a part of the canvas and not the artist. The mba is a product. A commodity that can be bought and sold. All of them think the same, they all feel similarly about issues, they share the same skill set and ironically, they also claim in unison that they are different from the "rest". The truth is that they are all different in the very same way from the others. Similarly different. an inherent contradiction, an irony and yes, an unassailable fact that should depress every mba who can afford to think like me. ME, yea me an MBA in the making. Quoting Badal Sircar from EVAM INDRAJIT, "amal, vimal, kamal, evam..."
And(evam) an annexure, an extension, a mere existence to be added to another entity. And we speak of identity, an identity that we attribute to the institute. Funny isnt it, we have an identity that we borrow from an institute and still claim our individuality
i dont know the reason for this, i really dont care and neither should u
cos if u begin to care, then u need to forgo a fat salary and probably an able wife, yeah
who cares about individuality, about differentiation, distinction, if u say u do, sadly, u find no place over here
cos here we are all mental clones, living in a regimen dying in a line, and surviving...
